Episode 48 – The Power Of Breath Work With Nick Wingo

Nick Wingo spent the early part of his life as a firefighter paramedic where he saw things that most people could never even understand. After retiring as a firefighter Nick has put his passion into conquering his PTSD and helping others to do the same. He also gained a whole new perspective on the value of life after spending some time on a medical mission in Uganda.

Together with his beautiful bride Desiree Wingo he is building a business, raising their 2 amazing children Owen and Analise, helping couples strengthen their marriages, and giving a voice to those firefighters and first responders whose suffering goes unheard. Nick and I dove deep into healing trauma and the power of controlling your Breath Work. This was a life changing interview for me in which Nick helped me with breathing examples of what to do. Nick wants to make the world a better place and does so everyday by mastering himself first.

You’ll Learn:

What it looks to clear your mind
Why you need to meditate

And I realized how powerful our breath is. I realized how amazing our breath is. It’s actually the only thing that we can consciously and unconsciously do because we’re breathing every day at an unconscious level. And then it’s something we can notice and start to breathe consciously. Right. And so that’s when I really started leaning into my breathwork and then really started to see the power in it.

And, and where I started is I started with the whim H method there. You I’m reading that right? Yep. Whim Mo meth is a really great start of, of doing you 20 big OGI wave OGI breath, which is like an oceanic waveform breath, which is no pauses in between just breathing, however you can breathe. So it’s, and then pausing on the whole, on the, on the breath out Uhhuh. When you pause in the breath out it’s that’s where I have found the. Deep states of meditation. In fact, my longest breath hold to this point is about four and a half minutes. And the way that I’ve done that is, is that I focus in on my heart” – Nick Wingo
