I met Richard Fitts Jr for Oscar Mike Radio number 92. He was in the final stages of bringing his father, SSG Richard Fitts Sr.’s story to life. Over the years a bond of friendship has been formed as I learn more about the Fitts’ family story.
Austin Fitts is SSG Richard Fitts Sr.’s grandson and appeared with his father, Richard Fitts Jr. at the Richard Fitts Sr Memorial on the corner of Hancock St and Route 139 in Abington, MA for this episode.
Arthur O’Callaghan is an Air Force Veteran and is local to Abington. Art served during the Vietnam War and was compelled one day to write a song about the Missing in Action experience. Letters to M.I.A.s is being produced by Richard Fitts Jr. at his JR-5 Studio in Abington, MA.
