    Today is the 43rd anniversary of Operation Eagle Claw, the attempted hostage rescue in Tehran, Iran. On todays show we have SGM Mike Vining, one of the founding members of Delta Force, telling the story of what many call a failed mission, but yielded so many improvements in operational capability. April 24th, 1980, the United States military attempted a daring rescue of 52 American hostages at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran Iran. This would be the first of many missions the U.S. Army's elite fighting force, Special Forces Operational Detachment - Delta, or Delta Force, would partake in.

To us, Will was the FNG (Fucking New Guy) because he showed up to the unit shortly before our return from Iraq in 2005.  From FNG to one of the senior Soldiers in the Ramadi Rotation to still continue to hold the standard.  Will Woods has carried on the Legacy of the Blue Spaders.

    Hello, Tyree here, and I have some explaining to do for this episode. This particular episode was recorded months ago, but was somehow mislabeled.  I've spent the last couple of months searching for the episode, but life got busy and the recording fell through the cracks. Today, to my surprise, I found the episode and edited it.  I hopped on Facebook to tell Tripp that I found the episode, texted him and didn't get a response. After a bit of digging, I discovered that he had passed away Oct 3rd, 2022. A couple months ago, he contacted me and asked about the show.  I told him I would keep looking.  I'm terribly sorry that he didn't get a chance to hear this show, but I'm happy that I'm able to put this out to his family and friends. He was one of very few people that aggressively pursued a chat with us, and the show wasn't half bad. Thanks, Tripp "Let him bear the palm who has won it."
